Joe Frazier: When the Smoke Clears

Four years in the making, “Joe Frazier: When the Smoke Clears” is the story of the real Joe Frazier.

It is more than just a boxing film, it is the story of a son’s love and admiration for his father, it’s about community and the Black experience in 20th and 21st Century America.

It tells the story of Joe’s life and career and of the sad demise of his iconic Philadelphia gym. Includes interviews with George Foreman, Larry Holmes, the late Angelo Dundee, Bernard Hopkins as well as Joe’s friends and family.

Top international factual film making magazine Realscreen has called it a ‘must see observational documentary’.

Before his passing in 2011, Joe said of the film: “It really lets people see a true picture of what I am about and where I am coming from.”

His son Marvis, who also features in the film has called the doc “touching and beautiful”.
